In the small town of Tecate in Baja California,
employment opportunities are scare.
The lack of jobs that pay fair wages to the working class
add on to the burden that poor families living far from city centers face
since adults are not able to provide for the their children.
Site of our monthly community outreach in Tecate, where medical check-ups and consultations are provided by our health volunteers.
To alleviate the suffering of the poor in Tecate,
we've sent a caravan of volunteers to bring food and medication
once a month for the last 10 years.
ESPERANZA EN TECATE
TECATE, BAJA CALIFORNIA
Every first Saturday of the month, Hope Found provides food purchased with collected public and private funds to at least 200 hundred hungry people.
Every month, our team travels south of the border to bring hope to a community in need in Tecate, Mexico.
Families flock to the convent of the Trinitarians of Mary, which has anchored the secluded community and has become a partner of our foundation, knowing that they will be provided free medication to treat the various ailments that plague them.
With the help of sponsors who have partnered with our monthly mission to Mexico, our team is able to serve these families with medical consultations and treatment in addition to feeding hundreds of the hungry who line up for the meals we provide on the day of our visit along with food staples that have been donated towards this cause.
A MISSION BEYOND BORDERS
After years in operation in the Philippines, our mission team expanded its services to the poor in the early 2000s by heading south to our neighbors in Tecate, Mexico. Just a few miles from the US-Mexico border in California, a caravan of volunteers traverse mountainous terrain to a small community in the valleys of the Kuuchamaa Mountain for what started as a feeding mission, but has since evolved into a free clinic that sees up to 100 patients for basic medical consultation and vital check-ups for the young and old alike, as well as pre-natal care for young women.
Partnering with HOPE Found and our Tecate mission are local groups based in the greater Tecate-Tijuana areas, with major support stemming from the nuns of the Trinitarians de María convent and orphanage in Monte Tabor. The sisters have been instrumental in rallying locals for help in feeding entire families and giving toys to children, yet another arm of the outreach, which touches hundreds of individuals in a single day.
Help us feed hundreds
of hungry families in Mexico.
